Location

Set in the heart of Brighstone village in beautiful West Wight, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Poppies is a stone’s throw from the village shop, tea rooms, pub, church and museum. The nearest beach (next to Grange Farm and its alpacas, rare breed goats and sheep), Coastal Path and the Downs (linking up with the Tennyson Trail) are just a ten minute walk away. It is a two minute drive to join the Military Road route along the coast to Freshwater with its jaw dropping views and access to beaches such as Brook and Compton, and onwards to the Needles. The next village (5 minutes’ drive) is Mottistone where you will find National Trust Mottistone Manor and Gardens, the Longstone Neolithic monument on the Downs and beautiful 15th century church where Benedict Cumberbatch married Sophie Hunter in 2015.
Further afield, the rest of the island and its holiday attractions are all within a 40 minute drive of Brighstone.
15/20 minute drive – Carisbrooke (with its famous castle), Yarmouth, Freshwater, the lovely west beaches of Totland and Colwell, and also the island capital Newport with its range of shops and supermarkets.
25/35 minute drive – Alum Bay, Cowes, Osborne House, Shanklin/Sandown beaches and Ventnor (Victorian beach resort and botanical gardens)
